Jade Tayte is an athlete and party girl, living on campus at university and enjoying the carefree lifestyle that comes with being a 19 year old student, living away from home. Finishing up her second year of study, she gets a call that changes her life forever.

In a freak accident while driving along the New England Highway, on their way to collect her, Jade’s parents are killed and her brother Silas is left fighting for his life.

Jade is forced to consider her future, when it becomes apparent that her Grandparents do not intend to step in and take on the challenging behaviours that Silas manifests, when it becomes clear that he will survive.
At 19, and with no script to follow, Jade must take on a parenting role for her 12 year old brother.

Benjamin Reynolds is living the high life in LA, and he’s about to renegotiate his UFC contract, when suddenly he’s called home to Australia to care for his ailing mother who has been diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Ben has been professionally fighting since he was 18, and it’s all he knows... so he finds himself instructing mixed-martial arts classes at his local Police Citizens Youth Club, three evenings a week; in between juggling his mother’s medications, her chemotherapy and her doctor’s appointments.
Here he is introduced to a talented hopeful, Silas Tayte, who at 17 years old has more potential than anyone else he’s ever trained. Problem is, Silas has issues... he’s bi-polar, and he struggles with controlling his illness.

Ben is determined to help Silas to become a champion in his own right, so he begins to embed himself in the talented young man’s life... which brings with it another challenge... Jade Tayte!

                 My Review

I totally loved this book. It had me hooked right from the star to the very end.
The story was heart breaking, devastating, crude and crass, wittingly funny (I laughed out loud after reading this..some parts were so funny), so frustrating at times and yet so beautiful, heart wrenchingly beautiful.

Jade Tayte. Jade is your typical 19 year old university student for whom life is one big party and she is the show stopper. Commitment and settling down is so far down her list that it’s practically non-existent. But then, BOOM! One phone call and everything she ever dreamed of went down the shithole. In a freak accident, she lost both her parents and her brother Silas is left fighting for his life. When both her grandparents shun themselves from taking care of Silas, the responsibility comes down to Jade for taking on the parenting role for a 12 year old bipolar kid.

Now as she makes Silas her whole life, she gives up everything in the process. Her carefree attitude takes a hike and she struggles to support herself and her brother on the meagre income she earns working in a bar. These were the hardest parts to read. They were heart breaking and I have to say Criss has done a wonderful job in jotting down Silas and Jade’s struggle and pain.

“I'm getting better at pretending in the daylight, around everyone else. I hold it together pretty well, but at night when the darkness surrounds me, when I'm in bed and the gravity of the situation is closing in and engulfing me like black tar, sucking oxygen out of my body and leaving me gasping for breath, I struggle.”

“Silas' pain in my pain….
My pain is my pain….
All loss is my loss….
I don't begin or end. I'm a desolate husk of a fractured being that has no idea how to heal, because nobody wants to save me. Not even Silas, because he's struggling too much with the demons that desperately cling to his soul. And because I define myself within his struggle to be free of them. I am a slave to the drama; a slave to the feeling of helplessness that engulfs me every time Silas struggles to keep his feet walking one step at a time. I wanted so much to be my own person, free an unencumbered, it will never be like that again. I hate that Jade now, she's an accomplishment I'll never know, she left me behind in this chaos, I hate her, I hate me.”

Enters Benjamin Reynolds.

Benjamin Reynolds. Ben is a UFC star in the US. When he gets to know of his mother’s terminal illness, he leaves everything behind that comes to Australia to be with his ailing mother. When he decides to join a gym, he didn’t know his life is about to be forever changed. He enters bumps Jade in the shoulder and when he gets a good look at her, he’s instantly attracted to her. Even though she is not normally his type he is drawn to her. Never once to back down from a challenge, he makes it his mission to woo Jade and date her. Since Jade is not at all interested in him, the banter (full of sexual innuendoes)  between the two as they verbally war with each other is totally amusing. These were my favourite parts in the book.

“We’ll I’ve gotta tell ya... you’re fucking losing your touch... because I seriously can’t stomach the idea of your cock getting anywhere near me!” I reply.
“You haven’t even seen my cock... how do you know if you want it near you or not?” he laughs.
That almost has me laughing... seriously... but I can hold back the laugh and compose myself... barely. I channel my inner bitch...
“Send me a picture... I’ll put it with all the other cocks I collect!” I growl.
That nearly has him falling off the treadmill, but he regains his stride.

"You are a delusional, self congratulating, chauvinistic, loudmouth louse of a dickhead donkey fucker." she snarls, and then continues, "If your dick gets anywhere near my vagina, you're going to need a surgical team to reattach it."

“What is your problem?” she asks.
“You... you’re my problem!” I bite... I put more vehemence in that short sentence than I had intended... and now suddenly I’m even more pissed off. I’ve been making it obvious that I’m interested, and she’s been rude! Which has made me behave rudely!
“How am I your problem, fuckface?” she growls.
“Fuckface? Is that an invitation to fuck my face, or have me fuck yours?” I return heatedly.
“How do you make insults into seventies porn come-ons? You’re a freak show of twisted innuendo!” she reasons angrily.

Finally Ben manages to enter Jade and Silas' life completely and manages to make them a part of his family fully. The way they tried to live everyday life and stood strong for each other in the event of Ben's mom's death was beautiful. Jade was so supportive of him and how she became Sabrina's daughter was so amazing. It really brought tears to my eyes just as they came in Ben's

“My mum claims her in that moment, and my heart feels so much pain that I can't understand how something so beautiful can hurt so much. “

“I can't help the tears as they form in my eyes, I can't help the sting in my throat as the pain transcends the confines of my heart and travels up to burn through my oesophagus; I can't prevent the gulping bubble of wrenching pain that erupts from my lungs. I can only place my hand over my mouth and 'will it' that nobody can hear me. “
And last but not the least, the sex between the two of them was so hot. Oh my god! I really needed to fan myself through it.

"Look at me." I growl gutturally. My hips and thrusting is rocking us, rocking the bed, bouncing her head on the pillow beneath it.
She looks up at me with those beautiful green eyes, and I can see the universe hidden in their depths as our eyes lock, and she pleadingly says, "oh, Fuck me."
I feel like I'm crawling inside of her, completely and utterly. The claim she has on me is complete, I can't imagine doing this again with anyone that isn't her.
"That Sir, is cataclysmic and thank you for calling me God. Your meal will be served when you can breathe again." I say to Ben who has flopped on the bed after coming in my mouth and deciding standing is not what he can currently manage.
"Meal?" he asks groggily.
"My pussy waits to be devoured." I explain.

"So good, just so good Ben, I feel like I should tear your head off and eat you like a Prey mantis." Jade Puffs.
"Excuse me?" I ask confusedly.
"Female Prey mantises eat their male counterpart after hot sex." She explains.

But it wasn't just the sex. The way they both had lost themselves inside each other body and soul was so beautiful. It makes you go to sleep dreaming about that perfect guy you always wanted. *sighs*

Consuming and desperate need is burning a pathway through me, pooling in my pelvis; and I need him to crawl inside my body... entirely inside, like he could be buried within me. My sexual denial is just ludicrous... this man has me body and soul right here... right now... and there’s simply no denying the attraction any more. I’m seriously feeling destroyed... blown apart... like stardust in a distant sky... floating and inconsistent!

If this was the perfect moment, I’d have washed my hands...
If this moment was perfect... I wouldn’t be standing in my garage looking like I’ve just ridden through the seven gates of hell.
If moments for finally cutting the crap came around with perfect timing; we’d all be perpetually showered, have a stylist on hand to make sure we looked our best and have just realised what was about to occur so we could smell good.
This was nothing like that... it wasn’t anywhere near perfect... but it was right!

Criss Copp has written a perfect book with perfect storyline, a consistent plot and amazing characters. That was the best part of all. The characterization was amazing. You can connect with every single one of them like they are a part of your life.
Too. Good
Must. Read. For. Everyone.

Criss Copp-Author Interview

Welcome author CRISS COPP

About the author
I am a university student... and I am in the last year of my Bachelor degree.
I live with a number of crazy people that I like to call my family, and I have two dogs and a cat.
I also have a mortgage and a previous life in the education field...
I LOVE reading and adore writing.
I have lots of stories I have written over the years... and I plan to revisit them one day and see if they too are publishable.
I'm hoping that my writing style will improve and readers will enjoy my stories, just as much as I like writing them.
I have travelled quite extensively and unfortunately or fortunately lived in many different places.
I have loved and laughed and lost...
But I continue to place one foot in front of the other in order to get where I intend to go.
=)

Here's what she has to say in an exclusive interview with Review Buzzz

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
At the age of 14

How long does it take you to write a book?
Hmmm.  I do a lot of research for anything I’m not too familiar with, so if you take that into consideration, as well as editing, I suppose around 6 weeks.  Typing up time for the initial manuscript would equate to maybe a week though.  It’s all the other stuff that takes time.
Now I’m studying again, everything gets delayed.  I’m hoping 3-4 months will be sufficient.

What do you think makes a great story?
Emotion.  Real and truthful emotion.  It doesn’t have to be negative or positive, but getting the reader to identify and empathise is paramount.

What inspired you to write the book(s)?
Life experience and an overactive imagination.

How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I have published four books, but I have written many, many more.  My favourite thus far is a tossup between “A Pretty Pill” and “Fake”.  I suppose since they’re the same series, my favourite is in fact that series.  So I’d say the series “A Pretty Pill”.

What was your favorite part of the book(s)?
Writing Jade’s heartache and anguish was cathartic.
I really loved writing about Silas’ recovery and falling for Isobelle too.

What was the hardest part to write in the book(s)?
Sabrina’s departure in book #1 of the series was difficult, but the end of Fake (book #2) was pretty hard to write.
But the hardest part in a published book to write was the suicide in my book Always Summer.  I cried.

What is the name of your most recent book and if you had to sum it up in 30 or less words, what would you say?
Resilient (A Pretty Pill, #3)
The external threats and devastating struggles resolve for Silas, Isi, Jade and Ben.  So how do they explore their futures as couples – reliant upon and trusting each other?

Do you have a favorite place you love to write?
My bedroom.

How hard is it to get published?
I’m an Indie author, so apart from the initial formatting, self-publishing (which is what I do) is fairly easy.

What do your family and friends think about your books?
Apart from my sister, my family don’t read my books, and only a couple of close friends have kind of read them (in parts).  A few trusted colleagues have also read them and edited them for me too.  My sister and colleagues loved the books and have put their hands up to edit and proofread future books.

What do you like to do when you are not writing?
Read.  I absolutely love reading.  I love to escape.

Is there an Author that you would really like to meet?
Oh wow... kind of.  I’d be really scared I’d make a fool of myself though.  But the top of the list would definitely be Tolkien.

Who designed the cover of your book?
“A Pretty Pill” is a photo I took of a beautiful young woman I know.
“Fake” is a photo of a guy I found through trawling the internet that allowed me to use his photo when I asked.
“Resilient” is a photo I bought from a professional stock photo studio.
“Always Summer” is a photo I took of a couple of floristry butterflies on a seventies wedding dress.
“Falling in Silence” is a photo I took of a corner of my dressing table.

If your book was made into a TV series or Movie, what actors would you like to see playing your characters?  Feel free to add pictures.
Oh dear.  I hope I would be able to personally check out anyone they thought might fit the role, so I could decide based on personality and sex appeal.  It’s hard to be objective of actors since I’ve never met any of them.
I’d definitely have to meet whomever they thought could do it first, and then decide.

Where can your readers stalk you?
Best place is Goodreads and Facebook.

First You Plz by Nisha B. Thakur

First You Plz  by Nisha B. Thakur

Book Name: First You Plz

Author Name: Nisha B. Thakur

Genre: Chick-lit, College Romance

Publisher: Power Publishers

My Rating: 2 stars

First You Plz is a tale of an immature girl, Avanti. It is a story of her struggle as she deals with worries of first love. Her journey from realization of the sweet feeling she experiences these days is called Love- her First Love. It is a tale of her secretly nurtured dream and her silent prayer that he will propose her in a very romantic way. It is a tale of her desire that she wants him to say those three magical words to her first.

Although he hasn't shown much interest in her.

Still in her heart she keeps on praying, first you plz… It is Avanti’s journey of ups and downs of her first love and how she exhibits immaturity as she deals with anxieties of her first love.

                                         MY REVIEW

**Received complimentary copy of the book from the author**

First you Plz is a short novella narrating the story of four friends- Avanti, Meenakshi, Rachana and Aakash. The four of them have moved to Matheran to study MBA.

On the very first day, upon reaching their hostel, Avanti’s gaze fell on Aakash and she immediately develops a crush for him and later falls in love.  The story then moves on to tell how Avanti with the help of Meenakshi and Rachana tries to woo Aakash and convey her love for him.

Although Avanti is an innocent charming girl, she’s portrayed to be very immature and naïve. Her feelings get hurt very easily and on the most inconsequential of things.

Aakash is shown as a matured man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to confront others if he thinks they are wrong. So when Avanti stops talking to him for apparently no reason at all, he doesn’t hesitate to confront her about it.

“Hi,” said Aakash and smiled.
“Hi,” replied Avanti.
“So how many more days to go?” asked Aakash.
Avanti looked at him in a puzzle.
“I didn’t get you?” asked Avanti.
“I am asking how many more days to you want to ignore me? I am asking you directly so that we can end the matter at once,” said Aakash.
“I don’t understand what you are talking about?” asked Avanti with a straight face.
“You talk less when I am around. I have noticed this. I don’t know your problem. So I am asking you directly how many more days to go so that I prepare myself that my friend Avanti Mallik is not going to talk to me for these numbers of days and then once you are happy we can resume our friendship. So now tell how many more days?” asked Aakash and then walked off angrily.

I am going to be honest about this book in my review. This book didn’t satisfy me. I expect for twists and turns in a book that can hold my interest. This book had a very straight and predictable story. The plot is really weak. I don't like how the story ended because when it ended I was like “That’s it! Where’s the rest of it??”
In addition to this, the book was very poorly edited and the grammar was horrible.

I don’t want anyone to use my review for any personal attack on the author. Whatever I have mentioned above is my personal opinion of the book and doesn’t convey any group feelings. I do think that Ms Thakur can do better than this. This book wasn’t a complete train-wreck. Once it book goes through some more editing and corrections, I feel it can garner much higher ratings.

Enslaved by Shoshanna Evers

Enslaved  by Shoshanna evers

Book Name: Enslaved (Enslaved Trilogy #1)

Author Name: Shoshanna Evers

Genre: Erotica, BDSM, Contemporary, Adult Content( Recommended to 18 years and above)

Publisher: Pocket Books

My Rating: 3.5 stars

From a red-hot erotica writer comes an original eBook—a sensual romp across the playgrounds of the unbelievably rich and extremely sexy.Elisabeth Anderson has seen Trevor and his friends at the infamous Manhattan BDSM club WhipperSnapper, where everyone calls them the BAD Boys, for “Billionaire Arrogant Doms.” The BAD Boys—Trevor Brooks, Marc Wilde, and Roman Chase—are aptly named; they’ve made money hand over fist due to their aggressive investing at the Brooks Wilde Chase Fund. These guys are so rich they can get away with anything, or so the rumors go.

Trevor gives Elisabeth full reign of his estate in Westchester, letting her do as she pleases. He has only two rules. Rule One: she must obey and submit to him while she is living in his house. Rule Two: always answer the blue cell phone. She’s happy to oblige, because being with Trevor makes her want to obey, to love him the way he seems to be falling for her. But Elisabeth’s never been good at being the quiet sub; she's feisty and gets off on the punishments more than she does by pleasing Trevor.

Elizabeth can’t submit to Trevor the way he needs her to, so his friend and business partner (and fellow BAD Boy) Roman takes her in hand. But love triangles can have sharp edges...and somebody’s bound to get hurt.

                                          My Review

**Received an ARC of the book in exchange of an honest review**

Enslaved by Shoshanna Evers is one really HOT read! It touches the subject of BDSM relationship in detail where pain and pleasure are main ingredients of people living this lifestyle.

This book tells the story of the relationship that develops between Elisabeth, a self-confessed Sex Slut and Trevor, a mega-rich Dom looking for a woman who can keep up with his sexual appetite.

Elisabeth is a feisty submissive and a self-confessed pain-slut. A pure masochist in nature, she breathes pain as other humans need air to survive.  She came from a horrible ending with her mom, so it's no wonder she's "wired" the way she is. She is shown as a real brat who doesn’t mind disobeying her master and throwing a fit just so she earn a punishment for herself. I actually found some of her attitude to be humorous and sassy.

Trevor is one of the BAD boy billionaires that frequent the club WhipperSnapper. Trevor notices Elisabeth when he sees her there with her former Master and asks for an introduction and to be allowed to borrow her for a scene. They have an instant connection and she is later sent to his home after her relationship with her previous master has been dissolved for over a month. I really loved Trevor’s character.. He may be dominant, but he is also sexy, funny, caring, and a genuinely good guy who is looking for the right submissive to build a life, marrying her and having lots of children. Trevor is the perfect balance of sexy dominant male, and caring gentle lover.

I believe Ms Evers was trying to show us the true balance in a loving D/S relationship is about finding the other part of your soul that completes you. Where Elisabeth is submissive and wants pain, Trevor is dominant and wants to give pleasure. Elisabeth and Trevor are the perfect yin and yang and you can actually see in their interactions that they would meet each other’s needs perfectly.

Roman is one of the BAD Boys, and Trevor’s best friend. He introduced Marc and Trevor to BDSM back in college at Yale. He is a sadist; he appears to be a cold dominant that goes strictly by the rules, and a playboy who is never seen with the same submissive more than once. He is a self -proclaimed bachelor and plans never to enter a relationship. So logically thinking he would be the perfect candidate to train Elisabeth without getting emotionally attached right. I loved how Ms Evers explained throughout the book the type of person Roman was, because it made it so much easier to love him for the person he became with Elisabeth at the end of the book. I really wish Roman finds his happy ending in the one of the next books in the series.

While Enslaved is not an extremely long book it manages to create characters with depth and give them background. The BDSM world that Trevor and Elisabeth participate in is detailed and intense. If you like you’re BDSM a little on the intense side and while still getting your happy ever after then Enslaved is a book you will enjoy a great deal.

my Ex from Hell by Tellulah Darling

My Ex from Hell by Tellulah  Darling

Book Name: My Ex from Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy #1)

Author Name: Tellulah Darling

Genre/Tags: Paranormal, Romance, Greek Mythology

Publisher: Te Da Media

My Rating: 4 star

Sixteen-year-old Sophie Bloom wishes she’d been taught the following:

a) Bad boy’s presence (TrOuBlE) + teen girl’s brain (DraMa) = TrAuMa (Highly unstable and very volatile.)
b) The Genus Greekulum Godissimus is notable for three traits: 1) awesome abilities, 2) grudges, and 3) hook-ups, break-ups, and in-fighting that puts cable to shame.

Prior to the Halloween dance, Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. Then she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world.

Literally.

This breath stealing lip lock reawakens Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. She’s key to saving humanity in the war between the Underworld and Olympus, target numero uno of Hades and Zeus, and totally screwed.

Plus there’s also the little issue that Sophie’s last memory as Persephone was just before someone tried to murder her.

Big picture: master her powers, get her memories back, defeat Persephone’s would be assassin, and save the world. Also, sneak into the Underworld to retrieve stolen property, battle the minions of Hades and Zeus, outwit psycho nymphs, slay a dragon, rescue a classmate, keep from getting her butt expelled from the one place designed to keep her safe …

… and stop kissing Kai, Prince of the Underworld.

My Ex From Hell is a romantic comedy/Greek mythology smackdown. Romeo and Juliet had it easy.

                                               My Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher.

I really liked this book. It was witty, funny and full of sarcastic humor. This is a story of modern day high school life with a back drop of Greek mythology.

The plot revolves around a high school junior Sophie Bloom, who studies with her two BFF’s Theo and Hannah in a day boarding school. The twist comes when she goes off two meet a handsome hunk of her arch nemesis at midnight on Halloween and while kissing him she gets the memory flashes of Greek mythological creatures including Zeus and Hades themselves. And here comes everything crashes down! She learns from Theo that, the hot yummy treat Sophie ran off to kiss, also known as Kai, the Prince of the Underworld.
She infact is Persephone, the daughter of Zeus and her soul has taken refuge in a human body after being brutally murdered in her previous life as a goddess. From now on starts her quest to unravel her past, get back her memories and save humanity from the ongoing war between Zeus and Hades.

What I really liked about Sophie was her sarcastic sense of humor. That girl cannot talk in a straight way. Everything she has to say, no matter how serious, has to be in some snarky, witty, funny and sarcastic way. No matter the seriousness of the matter, she could always joke about it.

“Then I met a guy. I know that’s the worst cliché ever. But sadly, it’s true. And of course, me being me, he couldn’t be just any bad boy. No. He had to be Kai, son of Hades, Lord of the Underworld.”

“Who knew when I was cramming Greek mythology for my English final, I was studying the family tree?”

I loved the characters of Theo and Hannah too. The easy banter between the three friends had me crackling like a lunatic. Some of my favorite parts:

"How big was my rack?" I asked hopefully.

"Such tact," Theo admonished. "I never noticed."

"How would big boobs help you save humankind? Unless you're planning to poke out Hades' eye with your diamond hard nips." Hannah rolled her eyes at me.

“Stranger things have happened, Neo. And it was Halloween.” “It was, Morpheus. But since I wasn’t abducted, thrown into a shipping container, and sent on my way to the Baltics to be sold into sex slavery, highly unlikely.”

“Rule number two, I agree with Theo. No blowing your cover. You are strictly Clark Kent around here.” “Couldn’t I at least be Tony Stark?”

I am completely enamored with My Ex from Hell. There’s mystery, intrigue, comedy and drama all rolled into one. It's one of those books you're only expecting to read for about a half hour or so (because you're busy and have other work you should probably be attending to) and end up reading the whole thing in one sitting, forgetting all the things you had to do that day (Spoken from true experience!).

RANDOM THOUGHTS
I am not so happy with the cover of the book. Before I read the blurb of the book and just saw the cover, I thought this is going to be contemporary high school cliché with your girl-next-door suffering through life only to have her ex coming back and making it more miserable. Although most of it was true in this book to, but this wasn’t your contemporary-nothing-paranormal-cliché. So I just kind of wished the cover would have depicted something along the mood of the book, what with all the Greek mythology stuff going on.
